FILIPINIANA SERIES AND MIXED MEDIA WORKS ON EXHIBIT AT THE ROYAL MANDAYA HOTEL By Dr. Loretta Osakwe As an avid art collector a patron of Bong Espinosa’s art let me say, the Heritage Kagikan Cultural Roots Exhibition was well received and well done! Thank you Victor “Bong Espinosa” for sharing your culture via art with all of the diverse people here in the Land of Opportunity also known as the United States of America. Needless to say, I was grateful to all my friends and family who took the time to attend the private showing held at my residence herein the “Garden State” of New Jersey,USA. For all intent and purpose, this artist put his heart and soul into a distinguished art collection and an art show. His bold, neo-ethnic and surreal paintings inspired art collectors and patrons of his art who purchased and took his beautiful artworks home with them. After the success of his “Reflections and Influences” exhibit at the Museo Daabawenyo last year, recently Bong Espinosa has organized another solo exhibition dubbed as”11/11 Folk Art series” his 11th Solo show in 2011.The said art project was greatly supported by his old Holy Crossian High school friend in the person of Mr. Jerome Escandor and the host exhibit venue The Royal Mandaya Hotel. The show will be on view at the Hotel Hallway until the end of May 2011. Everyone is invited to check his Recent and Past artworks, Free admissions in the Hotel. In any event, I was grateful for the opportunity to share Espinosa’s talent and help promote the art of this gifted and talented artist. He has achieved his short term dreams and goals. Hence I look forward to his continuing long term goals with continued success. What a pleasure to host this award winning painter and extra ordinary visual artist. His artistic home works for the host family in Orange, New Jersey included painting activities on wood, glass and cement canvases as well as lawn sculpture and artfully composed window works. Those extraordinary works of art have captured the energy and vibrancy of the neighborhood paying homage to the source of nature all around us, while adding its visual flair. Espinosa projects a tremendous amount of personality. For sure, gifted artists like him who have participated in a series of Annual art projects in the USA both spectacular and awesome! Real pieces of art by a well known international artist whose artworks I personally admire are simple and vibrant. Needless to say, I was delighted that this artist was given the opportunity to live in the USA and to experience family life in the Garden state of New Jersey. In particular while doing extraordinary and creative artworks. My heartfelt thanks to Bong’s Philippines family on the Southern island of Mindanao in Davao City for their sacrifice. No one can go it alone. Our happiness is best protected when we work to support family members together. Our heartfelt gratitude of support to your future art endeavors; we wish you all the luck and abundant blessings on your month long Recent Solo art exhibit at The Royal Mandaya Hotel dubbed as “11/11 Folk Art” series. His exhibit was simply opened to the public last May 1, his recent paintings depicts Festive celebration of Filipinos in the countryside setting illustrating culture, heritage and traditions. The artwork showcase will be on view at the Hotel Hallway until the end of May 2011. The exhibit offers Free admissions to all. Everyone is invited to appreciate art.
